House at the End of the Street

This was a positively outstanding thriller with an unexpected twist that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final credits roll.

This movie is about a a girl named Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) who moves with her mother to a small town. The house that they moved into happens to be next to a house where a murder happened, not just a regular psychopathic murder, but a child (Carrie Anne) killing her own parents. Elissa later finds out that although the whole town says that Carrie Anne drowned in a nearby river, her body was never actually found and there are rumours that she is living in the forest near Elissa's new home.
Elissa befriends her neighbour Ryan (Max Thieriot) who happens to be Carrie Anne's older brother and is living in the very house that his agents were murdered in. Ryan and Elissa start to become interested in each other and Ryan tells her stories of his and Carrie Annes childhood. More and more begins to be uncovered and on the night of Battle of the Bands the truth comes out. Loud and clear.

I will add that while I enjoy the Horror/ Thriller genre I am the biggest 'scardy cat' out there and i thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

I would classify it as a suspense thriller due to the fact that the biggest scare throughout the movie is wondering ''what is going to happen next?"

When some actors get large roles in very successful movies that have issues becoming a different character. This, however, is not true for the lovely Jennifer Lawrence who play a quite convincing curious teenager in The House at the End of the Street. She is very convincing and the audience feels the terror with her while she discovers the truth.

Honestly a must see movie for the halloween season that will keep you scared but won't scar you for life !
